Teach-in Against Surveillance ft. Terry Greene

By Hurley in The Morning

Highlights from our flagship live morning radio program, Hurley in the Morning, heard on voicEd Radio daily from 5:30-10:00 AM ET

Terry Greene drops by today to talk about a recent Teach-in Against Surveillance, a benefit event organized to educate us about the pernicious use of surveillance technology to proctor examinations in Canada’s post-secondary institutions. According to Terry (and others), the software makes assumptions about honesty, cheating and threatens levels of trust between students and faculty. Ian Linkletter, a learning technology specialist from UBC is being sued by a tech company that has been the target of his expos√© on the industry. The Teach-In sought to raise money for Linkletter’s defence. Visit for http://againstsurveillance.net/ more information and a way to donate.
