Lead To Include Conference – Donna McGhie Richmond – Consolidating Our Thinking

By Steve Sider

n this series, experts from a variety of backgrounds in Canadian education explore the landscape of inclusion and inclusive education. What are our visions for inclusion? What are the challenges, the opportunities and the provocative questions that need to be asked? How do prepare participants at all levels to effectively navigate the inclusion landscape so that we are better preparing our schools for ALL students? This is the Heart and Spirit of Inclusion.

Donna McGhie-Richmond is an Associate Professor in the Department of Educational Psychology & Leadership Studies at the University of Victoria.

Her research examines the nature of and interrelationship among teacher factors (i.e, knowledge, skills, attitudes, beliefs, and efficacy) and teaching practices and their corresponding influence on student participation and learning outcomes in inclusive classrooms.

Donna McGhie-Richmond closes out the #LeadToInclude Conference by drawing together and consolidating some of the thinking from delegates.
