Fishing Communities under stress ft. Dr. Hannah Harrison
Dr. Hannah Harrison has taken her passion for fishing and the communities surrounding the fishing industry into her work as a Postdoctoral scholar in the Department of Geography, University of Guelph.
Recently, Dr. Harrison wrote an article for The Conversation (Canada), “Family-owned fishing businesses displaced by waterfront developments on Great Lakes”. She dropped by Hurley in the Morning to talk about her journey into this work, some of the challenges for Great Lakes fishing communities and how those of us who visit these communities as tourists might be able to see them in a different way.
