Conflict: the Bane of my Existence – Principal Staff Conflict, A Case Study

By Marguerite Thomson

Conversations and Keynotes from the 2019 CPCO Conference held in Toronto on November 21-22. The theme for this year's conference, Compassion: Leading with Heart, attracted over 200 Catholic school leaders from across Ontario.

In this episode the Support Services Team use a Case Study of a Principal who is struggling with a teaching staff who seem unwilling to change and the ramifications of moving too quickly – conflict and a grievance alleging a poisonous work environment. The team discuss a resource offered through Great West Life as well as a book they are collectively reading, entitled Redeeming Conflict.
