Benjamin Doxtdator – A Long View on Education

By Stephen G Hurley

Host Stephen Hurley scans the education ecosystem, looking for the people and ideas that are starting to change the way we think about teaching, learning, schools and communities

Benjamin Doxtdator is a Canadian-born educator now working in Belgium. Through his “A Long View on Education”, as well as his presence on Twitter, Benjamin pushes us to look critically at our work in education, asking questions that many of us aren’t used to asking.

In this conversation, Benjamin helps me unpack neo-liberalism and neo-conservatism, especially as it applies to education. We also explore predominant narratives in teaching, learning and schooling, evidence-based practice and the rise of the Edustar in the education space.
