Good day to you. My name is Terry Greene, I am the Digital Learning Advisor at Fleming College in Ontario, Canada and I am here to provide today’s lead-up-to-OER20 guest blog post. This post will have a little less reading than usual. It will have a more than normal amount of images to please your eyes and feed your soul. And I am quite confident that it will have way more LIVE RADIO than is typical in a blog post!

That’s right, this post is a ruse to get you to listen to a special live episode of Gettin’ Air – The Open Pedagogy Podcast in which we get an update on the FemEdTech Quilt’s progress in a chat with Anne-Marie Scott, Frances Bell and myself.

Before we get to the live radio thing, a little bit of background for the uninitiated. First of all, there is an absolutely wonderful network of people, centred around a Twitter hashtag known as #femedtech, who work together to “reflect feminist pespectives on the domain of Education Technology.” Have a look here for the origin story. And if you’re wondering if you can be a part of this network, the answer is undoubtedly yes. In fact, the moment you think you want to be a part of it, you are a part of it.

The second thing you need to know about is that those very people are at this very moment crafting what this writer is convinced is the greatest quilt of all time: The #femedtech Quilt of Care and Justice in Open Education in the lead up to OER 20. When the community behind a conference (organized by an association focused on educational technology) makes a community quilt, you gotta know something good is going on.
