voicEd.ca was born five years ago as a way to collect the thinking, insights and opinions across Canada’s vast education landscape. At that time, a multi-author blogspace was the way to go and that’s what we did! In our relaunch of voicEd.ca, we’ve decided to respect our roots (tender as they are) and offer you the opportunity to have your own writing space right here.

New to blogging? We can help with some great tips, ideas and support to get you started.

Already have your own blog? While we always love fresh and original content, you should also feel comfortable cross-posting something that you’ve already created. This is a gathering place and the important point is that your perspective is represented here!

We need all voices! It doesn’t matter whether you are a parent, an educator, a research, a politician, a community activist, or a combination of any of these. If you have an interest in the present and future of education in Canada, your voice is right here. And don’t assume that your perspective isn’t welcome in this space.

While we love it when people agree with each other, we also believe that the only way to move our collective thinking ahead is by a strong commitment to seeking out some of those opinions, research and points-of-view that bother us, make us feel uncomfortable and even make us a little angry. We can’t force anyone to be open-minded, but we do insist that you present and respond to ideas in a respectful manner.

Our mission is to change the way you talk about education—in Canada and around the world—by opening up a multi-media space for vibrant, provocative conversation about the issues, challenges and opportunities that are coming to define us in the 21st century.
