So here we are! Less than three weeks after waking up with the somewhat spontaneous, Saturday-morning-after-three-cups-of-coffee notion that we could actually build a collective of voices around the idea of Canadian education, we’re launching voicEd.ca.
The vision of voicEd.ca is to provide some collaborative space for those interested in thinking out loud about the future of this country’s education systems. These are conversations that are happening all over the web on a daily basis, but the prospect of bringing some of those voices together in one place is pretty exciting.
As of this moment, close to thirty parents, educators, administrators, community activists (and combinations of all four) have committed to contributing to the project. You’ll begin to hear from these enthusiastic folks over the next little while.
While much of what voicEd.ca will become has not yet been revealed, all of our authors have been asked to reflect on the following as a way of introducing their perspective and creating some collective energy
Imagine one change in our education system that you feel would be both valuable and “do-able” in the next two years.
You’ll begin to see the results of their thinking in the slider on the voicEd.ca homepage.
Why not take some time to join the conversation. If you like what you read, please come back often. If you feel inspired to join our project, drop us an email. If you know anyone else that might be intrigued by voicEd.ca, let them know about us.
For now, grab a cup of coffee (or something else) and enjoy the conversation!
